Digital Accessibility Forum

The event was held on 19 November 2009 and it drew 106 participants from varied backgrounds including people with disabilities, caregivers, teachers, therapists, web developers and designers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all participants, trainers, speakers, panel members and sponsor for their support in making the Digital Accessibility Forum and Training Workshops a success.

Shawn Henry

Ms Shawn Henry

Chair of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI)
Education and Outreach Working Group (EOWG)

Shawn Henry focuses her personal passion for accessibility on bringing together the needs of individuals and the goals of organizations in designing human-computer interfaces. Her most recent book, Just Ask: Integrating Accessibility Throughout Design, offers an approach for developing products that are more usable for everyone.

Shawn leads the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) education and outreach activities promoting web accessibility for people with disabilities. Before joining the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), she developed and implemented strategies to optimize user interface design for usability and accessibility with Fortune 500 companies, non-profit organizations, education providers, government agencies, research centres, and international standards bodies.


Hiroshi Kawamura

Mr Hiroshi Kawamura

DAISY Consortium

Mr Hiroshi Kawamura is the President of the DAISY Consortium and is the Vice President, Assistive Technology Development Organization based in Japan. He is also the Research Advisor for the National Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities Research Institute and is a Research Fellow for the Global Study Research Center, University of Shizuoka.

Mr Kawamura joined The University of Tokyo in 1970 as a librarian. Since then, he chaired and became members of organizations such as JICA Advisory Committee for Asia Pacific Development Center on Disability, Disability Concerned National Forum on Broadcasting, WSIS Civil Society Bureau Disability Focal Point, etc.  After the establishment of the DAISY Consortium, Mr Kawamura has been instrumental in the development and implementation of DAISY.


Mayu Hamada

Daisy Consortium

Ms Hamada is a trainer/researcher from Assistive Technology Development Organization (ATDO), a leading member organization of the Japan DAISY Consortium. Ms Mayu Hamada participates in various DAISY production training in countries such as South Africa, Philippines, etc, covering not only DAISY production for people with print disabilities but those with intellectual, cognitive or psychiatric disabilities as well.


Felix Goh

Mr Felix Goh

Systems Engineer Education
Adobe Systems Pte Ltd

Felix is currently the System Engineer of Adobe and is involved in the Education Sector for SEA. He plays a vital role of ensuring providing updates to what’s new in Adobe Products and how Adobe’s Product can engage the Education Sector.

With the outstanding capabilities and records shown during his years in the service, Felix later joined ASKnLearn Pte Ltd as a multimedia educator. He applied his technical and leadership skills into innovating e-learning and currently as a Multimedia Specialist with ASKnLearn Pte Ltd, Felix worked under the Training Department and at the same time provides support in the website development and designing of banners and newsletters. He then took over the operations of the department in a year’s time to spear head the department’s growth in recognition and the growth of his staff in skills and opportunities. With passion for both the media and the teaching industry, he drives to contribute to the innovative hybrid of technological-education.

Felix later joined Adobe in June 2009 as the System Engineer for Education in SEA.
